Our location
In the heart of the French (Catalan) Pyrenées
With fresh spring water on-site, a garden in process, and hammocks on property, we offer endless hiking trails on and off the property and wonderful biking for those who love mountains!
The village of Saint-Laurent-de-Cerdans has two boulangeries, two restaurants (one operating in summer only, the other primarily serving pizza and drinks), and a small but well-stocked market (as well as a weekly farmers market). It also features a store where you can purchase espadrilles, hand-crafted on-site (following local tradition as a center of espadrille manufacturing) and the world-famous Les-Toiles-du-Soleil fabrics, also manufactured on site in turn of the century looms and sold in a beautiful shop in town. Wonderful locally-made cheeses, saucisson, jams, and honey are all made nearby and available for purchase.
We are a 10 minute drive to the Spanish border, 40 minutes to the lively French town of Ceret, the one-time home of Picasso with an excellent art museum and a large, lively Saturday market, an hour to a vast selection of beaches in France or Spain as well as the city of Perpignan, with several markets, museums and good train service. Figueres, home of Salvador Dali, is 1 hour by car, Girona 1.5 hours, Montpellier and Barcelona are 2.5 hours, and Toulouse is 3 hours.
We use organic and sustainable products wherever possible and support local producers.
We speak French and English (and a little Spanish), as does our local property manager.
